Our "house rules"

Before using our studios, please read the below. By entering the building, attending a booking, becoming a member, using our facilities or attending as a guest, you automatically agree to follow these rules and our full Terms & Conditions.

In simple terms:

  • Respect the space, staff, members and other guests.
  • No harassment, abuse, discrimination or threatening behaviour.
  • No smoking, vaping, illegal substances or dangerous weapons onsite.
  • Approved prop weapons must be declared in advance.
  • No pornographic, hateful, illegal or dangerous productions.
  • Food and drink are not allowed inside studios unless approved.
  • Leave studios as you found them.
  • You are responsible for any guests, crew or contractors you bring onsite.
  • Overtime is chargeable and rounded up to the nearest hour.
  • Damage, excessive mess or misuse may result in charges.
  • Do not film in communal areas without approval.
  • Respect other productions and keep noise down in shared areas.
  • Follow staff instructions and all safety signage.
  • We reserve the right to remove anyone behaving unsafely, unlawfully or inappropriately.
  • CCTV and audio monitoring are active onsite.
  • We are not responsible for lost recordings, internet outages, environmental noise or technical interruptions outside our reasonable control.
  • You are responsible for checking your recordings before leaving.
  • By using the studio, you accept our full policies and terms.

Full Code of Conduct & Onsite Behaviour Policy

By entering, accessing or using any UPL Studios premises, facilities, services, studios, equipment, website, membership systems or booking systems, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agreed to comply with this Code of Conduct, our Terms & Conditions, Membership Terms, Privacy Policy and all applicable onsite policies.

This Code of Conduct applies to:

  • members;
  • one-off clients;
  • production teams;
  • guests;
  • visitors;
  • contractors;
  • suppliers;
  • talent;
  • tour attendees;
  • and any other individuals entering or using UPL Studios facilities.

Acceptance of these terms is automatic upon:

  • entering the premises;
  • attending a booking;
  • participating in a production;
  • using our facilities;
  • accessing a member area;
  • using our equipment;
  • attending as a guest;
  • or making a booking through our systems.

The individual or organisation making a booking accepts responsibility for ensuring all guests, attendees, contractors and representatives associated with their booking comply with this Code of Conduct.

1. Respectful Behaviour

All individuals onsite are expected to behave professionally, respectfully and responsibly at all times.

The following behaviour is strictly prohibited:

  • harassment;
  • intimidation;
  • threats;
  • abuse toward staff or guests;
  • discrimination;
  • hate speech;
  • aggressive conduct;
  • unlawful behaviour;
  • disruptive conduct;
  • sexually inappropriate behaviour;
  • bullying;
  • unsafe behaviour;
  • excessive noise outside designated recording areas.

UPL Studios operates a zero-tolerance policy toward abusive or threatening behaviour.

We reserve the right to:

  • refuse entry;
  • remove individuals;
  • suspend access;
  • terminate memberships;
  • cancel bookings immediately

without refund where behaviour breaches this policy or places staff, guests, property or operations at risk.

2. Safety & Compliance

All individuals onsite agree to:

  • follow staff instructions;
  • comply with health & safety procedures;
  • observe fire safety signage;
  • operate equipment responsibly;
  • avoid unsafe or reckless behaviour;
  • immediately report hazards, damage or accidents.

Users operating equipment acknowledge that:

  • they do so at their own risk unless supervised by UPL Studios staff;
  • they are responsible for ensuring they are competent to operate equipment safely;
  • they are responsible for their guests, crew and contractors.

Any activity deemed unsafe by UPL Studios staff may be stopped immediately.

3. Respect For The Space

Users agree to:

  • leave studios and communal areas in a clean and reasonable condition;
  • dispose of rubbish appropriately;
  • avoid unnecessary mess or damage;
  • return furniture and equipment to original positions where applicable;
  • respect shared spaces and other productions taking place onsite.

Food and drink are prohibited inside studios unless approved in advance.

Excessive mess, damage or misuse may result in:

  • cleaning charges;
  • repair costs;
  • suspension of access;
  • removal from site;
  • recovery of associated losses.

4. Equipment & Property

All equipment, furniture, fixtures and facilities must be treated responsibly and used only for their intended purpose.

Users agree:

  • not to misuse equipment;
  • not to remove equipment without permission;
  • not to tamper with security systems or technical infrastructure;
  • to report faults or damage immediately.

The booking party remains fully liable for damage caused by:

  • themselves;
  • guests;
  • contractors;
  • suppliers;
  • talent;
  • crew members;
  • or attendees connected to their booking.

5. Filming & Content Restrictions

UPL Studios is a professional creative environment. The following content or activity is prohibited onsite:

  • unlawful activity;
  • pornography or explicit sexual content;
  • extremist material;
  • hateful or discriminatory content;
  • dangerous activity;
  • unlawful weapons;
  • illegal substances;
  • copyright infringement;
  • defamatory content;
  • fraudulent or misleading activity;
  • content likely to expose UPL Studios to legal, reputational or operational risk.

We reserve sole discretion to determine whether content or activity is appropriate for our facilities.

UPL Studios reserves the right to:

  • halt productions;
  • refuse services;
  • remove individuals;
  • terminate access;
  • notify authorities;
  • deny refunds

where content or behaviour breaches these policies.

6. Common Area Filming & Privacy

Users may not:

  • film staff, members or visitors without consent;
  • film in communal areas without approval;
  • obstruct communal spaces;
  • interfere with other productions or clients.

Users remain responsible for complying with:

  • GDPR;
  • privacy laws;
  • image rights;
  • copyright laws;
  • consent requirements.

UPL Studios may require deletion of unauthorised footage captured onsite.

7. Drugs, Alcohol, Smoking & Weapons

The following are prohibited onsite:

  • illegal substances;
  • intoxication;
  • smoking;
  • vaping inside the premises;
  • dangerous weapons.

Approved prop weapons used for legitimate production purposes must:

  • be declared in advance;
  • comply with applicable laws;
  • remain under responsible supervision.

UPL Studios reserves the right to involve law enforcement where necessary.

8. Access & Security

Users agree:

  • not to share access credentials improperly;
  • not to allow unauthorised access;
  • not to tailgate or bypass access controls;
  • not to interfere with CCTV, locks or security systems.

CCTV and monitoring systems operate throughout the premises for safety and security purposes.

By entering the premises, individuals acknowledge and consent to such monitoring in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

9. Noise & Shared Environment

UPL Studios operates multiple studios and productions simultaneously.

Users agree to:

  • maintain reasonable behaviour in communal areas;
  • avoid unnecessary noise disruption;
  • respect active productions and recordings;
  • follow staff instructions regarding noise management.

While reasonable sound isolation measures are in place, complete soundproofing cannot be guaranteed.

10. Enforcement

UPL Studios reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to:

  • refuse entry;
  • suspend access;
  • terminate memberships;
  • cancel bookings;
  • remove individuals from site;
  • recover damages or losses;
  • involve law enforcement;
  • pursue legal remedies

where individuals breach this Code of Conduct, our Terms & Conditions or applicable laws.

Serious breaches may result in permanent bans from all UPL Studios facilities and services.

11. Acknowledgement

By:

  • entering the premises;
  • attending a booking;
  • participating in a production;
  • using our facilities or equipment;
  • attending as a guest;
  • or accessing our services,

you acknowledge and agree that:

  • you have read and understood this Code of Conduct;
  • you agree to comply with all onsite rules and policies;
  • you accept responsibility for your conduct and the conduct of parties attending under your booking;
  • failure to comply may result in removal, suspension, financial liability or legal action.
