UPL Studios is committed to maintaining a safe and professional environment for all staff, members, clients, contractors, freelancers, guests and visitors using the facility.

All persons entering the premises are expected to:

  • conduct activities safely and responsibly;
  • follow all instructions issued by studio staff;
  • comply with emergency procedures and site signage;
  • report hazards, incidents or unsafe conditions immediately.

While reasonable safety controls are implemented throughout the facility, active studio and production environments inherently contain operational risks associated with filming, photography, lighting, electrical systems, rigging, equipment handling and live production activity.

General Responsibilities

UPL Studios Responsibilities

UPL Studios will:

  • maintain the premises in a reasonably safe condition;
  • maintain fire safety and emergency equipment;
  • conduct routine inspections and maintenance;
  • provide general safety guidance where appropriate.

Booking Holder & User Responsibilities

Booking holders and users are responsible for:

  • conducting activities safely and responsibly;
  • the conduct of any guests, contractors, crew, freelancers or visitors attending under their booking;
  • maintaining clear walkways, exits and access routes;
  • ensuring third-party equipment brought onsite is safe and suitable for use;
  • ensuring activities remain appropriate for the studio environment;
  • conducting dynamic risk assessments where required.

Emergency Procedures

In The Event Of Fire

  • Raise the alarm immediately
  • Evacuate via the nearest safe exit
  • Proceed to the designated assembly point
  • Do not re-enter the building until authorised to do so

Incident Reporting

All accidents, injuries, hazards, near misses or unsafe conditions must be reported immediately to studio staff or management.

Prohibited Activities

The following are prohibited unless expressly approved in writing:

  • smoking or vaping indoors;
  • naked flames, candles or pyrotechnics;
  • blocking fire exits or emergency routes;
  • unauthorised rigging or overhead installations;
  • unsafe use of equipment;
  • tampering with safety or security systems;
  • operation under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Certain higher-risk activities may require additional approval, insurance documentation, RAMS or separate risk assessments prior to access.

By entering or using UPL Studios, all users acknowledge they have read and understood the Studio Safety Requirements and agree to comply with all safety procedures, emergency procedures and instructions issued by studio staff.
